Kylan Robinson moved here from Alaska last year to enhance his chances of earning a scholarship. To say the plan worked is an understatement. The heralded Chamberlain running back fulfilled a lifelong dream Wednesday when he committed to Miami.
"I'm so excited," Robinson said. "It's hard to put into words."
Robinson (6-1, 215) also considered South Carolina and Ohio State. He began his Chamberlain career last fall as a little-known defensive end/tight end, but quickly burst on the scene after being moved to tailback early in the season. In 10 games at that position, he rushed for 1,606 yards, 402 against Alonso on Oct. 14.
"It's amazing," Robinson said. "From where I was a year ago, unknown and sitting in Alaska ... and now I'm down here getting ready to go to college at one of the top programs in the NCAA."

Jefferson standout Martel Moody, a safety/wide receiver, committed to Villanova over Eastern Kentucky, Richmond and Temple. Teammate Miles Anderson, a receiver, is headed to Foothill College, a two-year school in California.
Moody (6-1, 185), a three-year starter, has a 3.7 grade point average. "He's very versatile and can play on both sides of the ball," Jefferson assistant Lane McLaughlin said. "He's very quick, has great hands and good reaction time to the ball. He's a very smart football player."
Anderson (5-9, 170), who had 75 career catches and 18 touchdowns, still could end up at Indiana State. He's waiting on a test score, McLaughlin said.
