Lost and found: Santana 'Hold On'

Carlos Santana was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and then went on have even greater success when songs like Smooth and Maria, Maria won Grammies and spent a combined 22 weeks at No. 1 on the singles chart.

While I’m happy for all his success, my favorite Santana era is from the ‘80s with songs like Winning and No Where to Run. Not completely forgotten, my favorite Santana song is Hold On which peaked at No. 15 in 1982.

We would be remiss if we didn’t also celebrate Ian Thomas, who wrote Hold On and previous Lost and Found nugget Runner by Manfred Mann. Ian is the brother of Dave Thomas, better known as Doug McKenzie of Strange Brew and Take Off fame.

At age 65, Santana shows no sign of slowing down and continues to be a force of nature.
