Here's what everyone, including Michelle Obama, wore to the White House state dinner
It's that time in the day on a Wednesday when you probably need to fantasize about a life other than yours. For instance, I just ate a microwave meal at my desk, I'm wearing a secondhand H&M jacket and my hair is too tight.
Come with me, children, to Tuesday's White House state dinner for Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Renzi and his wife Agnese Landini. pictured above with President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Indeed, this is the kind of event you attend in your head when you're staring off into the middle distance during the marketing meeting.
Let's take a closer look at what Michelle Obama wore, and then die because it is Versace, and it is perfect. She has wowed at many a state dinner throughout her husband's presidency. This was her final dinner, and you can't blame a woman for going out in full bronze shimmer.
The event honored people of Italian heritage and was catered by Mario Batali. Who else was there?
These guys. Of course they were.
Gwen Stefani performed, and Blake Shelton was just, you know, Blakin'. If he looks a little confused as to how he ended up here, so is everyone else, but I'm glad he put on a tie. Gwen looks pretty flawless and is making me think about a long, sleek ponytail for my next Fantasy Event In My Head, which happens to be taking place at a little chalet in Monaco. Will take pictures.
Let's get a closer look at the dress.
It's kind of cool and spiderweb-y for Halloween, right? Dig it.
Next, Sandra Lee, on the arm of her bae, New York State Gov. Andrew Cuomo. The first thing I think of when I see Sandra Lee is her Kwanzaa cake, and I'm not even going to link to anything for you about that. I'm going to make you Google it because part of the payoff is in the hunt. Anyway, they look smart and snappy despite any past sins relating to baked goods.
Food celebrities were top on the invite list. Rachael Ray also came, with her husband John Cusimano. Any fan of 30 Minute Meals knows they got married in Italy. She has also been involved with Michelle Obama's causes. Her face looks like my face looks in my head after I got the invite to the chalet party in Monaco.
Here's director Roberto Benigni and his wife, actor Nicoletta Braschi I am completely charmed by her red dress, enamored with the length, and driven into a blind rage at how much I need the shoes.
Back to sitting here in Target boots. Until next time
