Art on Your Sleeve: Ink Mania
I’m of an age where I can remember a time when tattoos were rare, or least less common, and edgy. Now, of course, it seems more rare not to have at least one tattoo. And why not? They’re artistic, often beautiful forms of self expression and personal adornment. And there will be a whole lot of them at the Ink Mania tattoo convention this weekend at St. Petersburg’s Coliseum. You can get inked by a number of award-winning tattoo artists from around the world, get a body piercing, attend seminars and enter a tattoo contest. Enter your motorcycle in their Ink and Pistons Bike Show, or just admire them. There’s an art fusion wall and a graffiti contest, as well as a pin-up pageant. The family-friendly expo features specialty vendors, live entertainment and a DJ battle. There’s also an online art auction. Of course, there will be beer and food trucks. Proceeds help benefit children with autism. Admission is $25 for a single-day ticket, $48 for two days or $60 for three. It runs from 2-11 p.m. Friday, noon to midnight Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. 535 Fourth Ave. N.

Moving Out: CC’s Boutique Moving Sale
Moving stinks, no two ways about it. CC’s Boutique likely feels that way too, so they’re lightening their load with a sale before moving out of their Ivory and Lace location at International Plaza in Tampa. Brides-to-be can take advantage of finding that perfect dress for a discount of up to 75 percent off. The moving sale ends Sunday, then they’ll begin packing up for their new location at WestShore Plaza. Can’t make it to the sale? Fear not, because CC’s will hold a semiannual bridal gown sample sale from June 16-18 at the WestShore location. This sale offers discounts up to 85 percent off.

Relocated: Saturday Morning Market
It’s officially hot, so the folks at St. Petersburg’s Saturday Morning Market have taken mercy on us all and relocated to shady, tree-lined Williams Park for the summer. Enjoy the same mix of vendors and entertainment every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the end of August. Fourth Street and First Avenue N.

Read Me: Friends of the Library Book Sale
Read any good books lately? No? Go find one Saturday at the Friends of the Library book sale at the Safety Harbor Public Library. Not only will there be thousands of used hard- and soft-cover books, but also DVDs and CDs. The sale benefits the library’s programs. It happens from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 101 Second St. N. (727) 724-1525, ext. 4112.
