Rare Finds: Clearwater Vinyl Record Show
In my world, vinyl never went out of style. Besides having my own collection that I started as a child, I have grown up listening to DJs spin all genres of music using vinyl records. Buying records is special, a different thing than buying other forms of music, maybe because of the album art. Collectors of vinyl, DJs or just music lovers will likely be stoked for the Clearwater Vinyl Record Show on Saturday. Dealers and collectors will be set up selling thousands of records in all genres that you will be available to dig through, and they have some CDs and even sheet music, too. They’ll hold the sale the second Saturday of each month through the end of the year and according to the website, they buy, sell and trade. It’s free admission, and the sale runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Clearwater Record Show, 1610 N Hercules Ave., Clearwater. clearwaterrecordshow.com.
Cool School: LCC Day School Chic Boutique
St. Petersburg’s LCC Day School puts on the one-day Chic Boutique sale every year. Like so many shopping events today, these pop-ups expose you to some really unique brands and companies that you might not otherwise be aware of. Many of the vendors are local, like Cadyn and Charlie, whose jewelry is pictured. The shopping soiree is on Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and will feature all manner of goods, including clothing for children and adults, hand-crafted jewelry, seasonal home goods and designer handbags. India Hicks, Noonday Collection and locals Jackie Z Style Co. and Soul Tree Boutique will have their goods for sale. They also say delicious treats will be available, so I’m sold! LCC Day School is at 4400 Chancellor St. NE, St. Petersburg. facebook.com/LCCDaySchoolChicBoutique.
