Adam Levine to pay for Christina Grimmie’s funeral
Maroon 5’s Adam Levine has extended an offer to pay for the funeral costs of slain singer Christina Grimmie.
The YouTube sensation and former finalist on The Voice was fatally shot in Orlando on Friday night. Levine served as her mentor on the NBC show. This weekend, he wrote on Twitter that he and his wife were “absolutely devastated and heartbroken” by Grimmie’s death.
The 22-year-old and members of the band Before You Exit were signing autographs and selling merchandise after their show when she was shot dead.
“I’m so blown away by everything right now,” Grimmie’s brother Marcus wrote in a Facebook post, which also mentioned an online fundraising effort. “But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten.”
The shooter, identified Saturday as 27-year-old Kevin James Loibl of St. Petersburg, shot and killed himself during the incident after traveling to Orlando to commit the crime.
