Ed Sheeran will make a cameo on 'Game of Thrones'

Pour the wine. Ed Sheeran is headed to Westeros.

Executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed that the English Shape of You singer will be a guest star on Season 7 of Game of Thrones.

The GOT showrunners appeared Sunday on a SXSW panel, which was moderated by Stark sisters and real-life best friends, Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner.

This is a long time coming. The show has tried to get Sheeran on the show for several seasons, and originally extended an invite back in Season 3.  The reason? Williams, who plays Arya Stark, is a huge fan.

No details yet on who Sheeran will play, but this won't be the HBO hit's first musical cameo. The wedding band for Joffrey Baratheon and Margaery Tyrell's wedding reception was actually Sigur Ros, and Of Monsters and Men played a travelling band in the episode "The Door."

Chances are that Sheeran will play a pretty small character, but we're excited all the same. Game of Thrones returns to HBO for Season 7  on July 16. Now for the bad news: Season 7 will only have seven episodes.
