New 'Shopkins Live!' show coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater
Parents, start socking away some extra cash. Shopkins are invading your town.
The phenomenally popular line of tiny, anthropomorphic, highly collectible foodstuffs 'n' sundries is launching its first-ever live stage show, and it's coming to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Oct. 13. Tickets to the 4 p.m. show start at $33.25 and go on sale at 10 a.m. April 28. Click here for details.
Contrary to what you might think based on the toy line's YouTube popularity, Shopkins Live! won't merely be a 90-minute series of live unboxings. Instead, it's a musical built around Shopkins' human(ish) characters like Jessicake, Bubbleisha and Peppa-Mint, with plenty of the teeny Shopkins themselves (Kooky Cookie! Apple Blossom! Lippy Lips!) making an appearance.
Shopkins Live! is produced by Koba Entertainment, producer of such kid-friendly stage events as Dora the Explorer Live and the Backyardigans, in conjunction with Moose Toys, the Australian company responsible for your child's Shopkins addiction. In 2015, Shopkins were the most popular toy line in America, propelling Moose Toys owner Manny Stul onto Forbes' billionaires list in 2016.
You'd better believe there will be souvenirs for sale at Shopkins Live! -- VIP tickets ($103.75 include an "exclusive Shopkins Live! merchandise item," and there will no doubt be more at the merch table. So inform your children about this event at your own financial risk.
