BILL BILL BILL BILL: Bill Nye Saves the World

The Emmy-nominated host, educator and engineer of Science Guy fame returns with Bill Nye Saves the World, tackling science fact and fiction. Each half-hour episode dives into a timely topic with Nye laying down the scientific facts through panel discussions, quirky lab experiments and special correspondents. In two episodes, Nye deftly takes on the controversies over vaccines and climate change, breaking down the truth for a studio audience to prove, "It's not magic - it's science!" Everyone's favorite science guy is back with his beloved bow ties now streaming on Netflix.
Recognition at last: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks
Based on the bestselling book by Rebecca Skloot, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks is about finally giving recognition to a woman who changed modern medicine. Henrietta Lacks was dying of cervical cancer in 1951 when she involuntarily donated cells from her tumor, which proved to be surprisingly resilient. That immortal cell line became known as HeLa and went on to become vital for creating the polio vaccine, cloning, gene mapping and more. The story of Henrietta (Renée Elise Goldsberry) is told through the eyes of her daughter, Deborah Lacks (Oprah Winfrey), alongside journalist Skloot (played by Rose Byrne). Deborah aims to learn about the mother she never knew and to shed light on the woman who changed medicine. 8 p.m. Saturday, HBO.
Millennial epiphanies: Girlboss
The new Netflix series is inspired by the bestselling book #Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso, founder of fashion brand Nasty Gal. Girlboss follows Amoruso (played by Britt Robertson) who starts selling vintage clothing on eBay. By 28, she had a multibillion-dollar fashion empire. Amoruso and her brand have gone through a whirlwind of controversy in the past year. Nasty Gal filed for bankruptcy in November and some former employees sued the company, accusing Amoruso of firing women who got pregnant. But if you're a fan of the brand and hate-watching a show about a stereotyped millennial, Girlboss is for you. Now streaming on Netflix.
Geek tech: Silicon Valley
The Emmy-winning series about the epicenter of technology returns for a fourth season and change is in the air for the Pied Piper guys. In the new season, the crew pursue their video-chat app PiperChat, but Richard (Thomas Middleditch) has a hard time letting go of his goal to put his creation to better use. Elsewhere, Erlich (T.J. Miller) is still looking for his next big break, Jared (Zach Woods) attempts to pivot with the company’s new direction and Big Head (Josh Brener) goes back to school. 10 p.m. Sunday, HBO
