For starters: Rays at Angels, seeking a sweep with Chris Archer starting
UPDATE, 2:15: Ramos said his left hamstring is feeling better and he hopes to be back in the lineup Monday at Oakland. ... Cash said having Beckham back will be a boost to the lineup.
Here is the Rays lineup:
And the Angels lineup:
DEVELOPING: After opening post-All-Star break play by beating the Angels Friday and Saturday, the Rays are going for a sweep of the Angels today, and feel they have the right man on the mound in All-Star Chris Archer.
This will be Archer's first action since last Sunday, as he wsnt to the All-Star Game in Miami but did not pitch. He flew out to LA on Wednesday and did his pre-game work out here; the Rays arrived Thursday night.
The Rays are expected to have INF Tim Beckham back in their lineup today, announcing after Saturday's game he would be activated off the DL, with INF Taylor Featherston optioned to Triple-A.
Another question for the Rays is the status of C Wilson Ramos, who sat out Saturday after tweaking his left hamstring scoring from first in the 10th inning Friday.
Archer has pitched well against the Angels, 5-1, 2.48 in six starts, including a 15-strikeout game here in 2015.
The Angels are calling up RHP Parker Bridwell to start,
If the Rays sweep it would be their second this season of three or more games (Detroit April 18-20) and first on the road since June 2016 at Minnesota. It also would give them a five-game winning streak, matching their longest under Kevin Cash. Finally, it would extend their winning streak in Anaheim to eight straight.
