Developing: The Rays will be going for their first sweep of the season today, finishing off a three-game series with the A's in a matinee at Tropicana Field.

Considering Tampa Bay (7-10) was coming off a disappointing 2-7 road trip, getting two straight wins over the A's - which entered the series with the league's best record and majors highest scoring offense - can serve as a big confidence-boost, especially with the Yankees coming into town Monday through Wednesday.

The Rays. coming off their fourth shutout of the season last night, will have RHP Roberto Hernandez on the mound. The veteran is hoping for his first win as a Ray, and first win in 579 days (dating back to Sept. 20, 2011, when he was still referred to as Fausto Carmona).

Manager Joe Maddon had a DJ in the clubhouse before Saturday's game, and said he'd have another surprise for today. We'll keep you posted on that, as well as the lineups, coming soon.

Should also know, after DH Luke Scott (calf strain) runs the bases, whether he's ready for a rehab assignment.
