Dead and Company

Not even the threat of a hurricane bearing down on Florida can stop the guys from the Grateful Dead from making plans to travel our way.

Dead and Company -- the Dead-ish supergroup featuring John Mayer on guitar and vocals; Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann; Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and RatDog's Jeff Chimenti -- is coming to Orlando's Amway Center on Dec. 7. And because Dead fans like to travel, we should also tell you that they'll be playing the BB&T Center in Sunrise on Dec. 8.

Tickets to the Orlando show will be available through Ticketmaster Verified Fan, the program recently used for Bruce Springsteen's Broadway shows and Taylor Swift's as-yet-unnanounced tour. Registration begins today, with pre-sale opportunities beginning Sept. 12. American Express card members can purchase tickets to the Orlando and Sunrise shows starting at noon Sept. 19.
