Book events: Bhu Srinivasan to discuss 'Americana' at Oxford Exchange

The Oxford Exchange's Spotlight Series presents Bhu Srinivasan (Americana: A 400-Year History of American Capitalism) discussing and signing his new book at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 8 at the Oxford Exchange, 420 W Kennedy Blvd., Tampa.

The Cathedral Church of St. Peter's author series presents Tampa Bay Times reporter Ben Montgomery speaking about his book The Leper Spy: The Story of an Unlikely Hero of World War II at noon Oct. 10 at the church, 140 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg. Free; lunch available ($5).

Eckerd College presents Frances Moore Lappé, known for her bestselling 1971 book Diet for a Small Planet, discussing her new book, Daring Democracy: Igniting Power, Meaning, and Connection for the America We Want (co-authored with Adam Eichen) at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in Fox Hall on the Eckerd campus, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg.

Bestselling author Lisa Unger (Red Hunter) and Times book critic Colette Bancroft will be the speakers at the Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County Four Seasons Author Series luncheon at noon Oct. 13 at University Club of Tampa, One Tampa City Center.
