Hudson's Grayson Stover commits to Virginia

Grayson Stover didn’t necessarily plan it this way, but he decided to come off the recruiting market by committing to Virginia on Wednesday.

“It just felt right, and (Virginia) had been filling up with offensive linemen,” Stover said. “I didn't want to miss the opportunity especially since they have been my No. 1 school throughout the process.”

Stover, a 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman, is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports. His stock soared in the spring, and he ended up with 18 offers before pledging his allegiance to the Cavaliers.

Stover made the decision despite not visiting the Charlottesville, Va., campus.

“I have had a visit planned for a while, but it’s not for another three weeks,” he said.

With his college decision already made, Stover can focus on his senior season and trying to lead the Cobras to the playoffs after missing out last year.

“It was a huge relief,” Stover said. “I was just going to do it when it felt right.”
