Pasco tight end/defensive end Nick Bryant committed to Middle Tennessee State this past weekend during his visit.

“It just feels like home,” Bryant said. “The coaching staff is perfect. The campus is super nice. We just got a bunch of great recruits and a phenomenal quarterback recruit. I will be a true freshman and have a serious chance at starting on offense. Hopefully I can make an instant impact for the team.”

Despite not having a catch last season, Bryant, the No. 58 player in our HomeTeam 100, got attention from colleges because of his 6-foot-4, 230-pound frame. He also had an offer from Florida International as a tight end. Bryant said Middle Tennessee State wants to use him as an H-back.

“I can move around to fullback, slot, wideout or tight end, “Bryant said. “I will run the ball, run routes and block.”

This summer, Bryant also visited Clemson, Florida, FIU, Georgia, Georgia Tech, North Carolina and USF. He said he wanted to commit now so he could concentrate on his senior season.

“The recruiting process was fun but at the end of the day I'm still in high school,” Bryant said. “This coming season is the most important thing on my mind.”
