North Tampa events: digital cameras; computer access; free haircut

Digital cameras: Learn more about your digital camera from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the Life Enrichment Center, 9704 North Blvd. Accomplished art photographer Steven Sparks will help you make better shooting decisions and improve your post-processing with any type of digital camera. Discussions will be tailored around photo subjects you most care about, like taking pictures of your paintings, or landscapes, or family. You will receive shooting and editing checklist handouts, plus suggestions how you can learn more in the future.

Student study: Free computer access for children from kindergarten through eighth grade, who may not have computers at home, will be available at the computer lab from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County Family Resource Center-Town 'N Country, 7520 W Waters Ave., No. 8. Free haircuts: Every child who brings in a recyclable donation from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, America Recycles Day, will get a free haircut from Darren Peña's Salon & Spa, 10330 N Dale Mabry Highway. Qualifying recyclables are paper, plastic and glass. Mom and dad will receive a gift and 50 percent off on a haircut. Children must be 12 or younger to qualify and the adult haircut for half price is good for the event only. The parent has to be present to receive the gift. Treats and face-painting also will be available. Call ahead at (813) 969-2420 schedule kids' cuts, adult cuts and face painting.
