Drought conditions close boat ramps at two lakes

The Hernando County Waterways Department has announced that public boat ramps at Mountain Lake and Hunters Lake have been temporarily closed to motorized boats due to low water levels that have resulted from the ongoing drought.

Access is still available for kayaks and canoes at Hunters Lake. However, the Mountain Lake boat ramp is closed to all users. Other boat ramps around the county remain open and will continue to be evaluated as conditions change.

For information, call (352) 754-4062.
