Riverview resident critical after one-car wreck

A Riverview resident was in critical condition Friday after driving onto a Interstate 75 median and slamming into a construction vehicle, authorities said.

Ismael Torres, 46, was headed north on I-75, just south of County Line Road, in a 2008 Audi Q7 when the car swerved into the grass median and kept going until it hit a front-end loader, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Torres was flown to Tampa General Hospital with critical injuries.
