St. Petersburg police: Boy, 5, dies after being found in water

ST. PETERSBURG — A 5-year-old boy who was reported missing Wednesday evening and found in Bayboro Harbor has died, according to St. Petersburg police.

Police said the boy, Jamirreeus Broward, was with his family while they were fishing at Poynter Park, at 1002 3rd St. S, on Wednesday.

He was last seen along the sea wall, police said. His mother noticed Jamirreeus was missing around 7 p.m. and immediately called police.

The dive team found him in the water at 7:28 p.m. and paramedics performed CPR.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died, police said.
