Clearwater 13-year-old and 14-year-old charged with burglary

CLEARWATER — Two Clearwater juveniles were arrested Monday in connection with at least two burglaries, police said. A 14-year-old boy was charged with residential burglary, felony theft, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. A 13-year-old boy was charged with residential burglary and possession of burglary tools. Neither is being named because of their ages. At about 1 p.m. Monday, a neighbor observed several young men at a house in the 1200 block of Bermuda Street, on the northern edge of Clearwater off Betty Lane. One of them used a screwdriver to enter the house's back patio and take a bicycle, police said. The neighbor called police, who arrested Carter and Patterson. A third suspect was later seen stealing a bike from a house in the 1400 block of Thames Lane, police said, but he fled and remains at large. Detectives determined that Carter and Patterson were involved in a second burglary on Bermuda Street, and that Patterson was connected to a burglary on the 2000 block of Broadway last May.
