Man arrested, accused of raping Tampa woman

TAMPA — A 25-year-old man accused of raping a woman in an abandoned trailer was arrested Sunday night, police said.

The 22-year-old woman was sleeping in the living room of her parents' home about 4:30 a.m. Sunday when a man covered her mouth, placed a knife against her throat and ordered her to leave the house with him, a Tampa police arrest affidavit shows.

The man took her to an abandoned trailer and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit shows.

The woman escaped and contacted police. She identified her attacker as Roderick Riley of Temple Terrace. Riley and the woman are known to each other.

He was arrested about 10 p.m. Sunday and faces armed kidnapping, armed burglary and sexual battery counts. He also faces a violation of probation charge for aggravated battery on a pregnant woman, records show. Riley is in the Hillsborough County Jail without bail.
