A Wimauma woman was arrested Thursday after a Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigation showed she took money for services that were never provided, the Attorney General's office said.
Investigators said Esther Stirewalt, 64, received more than $8,000 for personal care services provided to a disabled adult, but the services were never provided. Stirewalt was employed by Tampa Bay Patient Services, the Attorney General's office said.
The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office arrested Stirewalt Thursday. She is charged with one count of Medicaid fraud.
