SEC basketball tournament preview

SEC tournament

When/where: Today-Sunday; Georgia Dome, Atlanta.

Outlook: It has been a tough season for the league, with only No. 1 Florida ranked in the final regular-season polls. There's a lot at stake for several teams on the NCAA Tournament bubble or trying for higher seeds, including Arkansas and Tennessee. The Razorbacks are coming off a bad loss to Alabama but have won seven of nine. The Vols have won five of six, including four straight. But don't sleep on Georgia, which was one of the most improved teams in the league in the second half.

Florida: The Gators (29-2, 18-0) stayed focused on one game at a time all season, Now they have to avoid looking past teams they have already seen and defeated. If seeds hold, the Gators will have to defeat Kentucky for a third time this season to win the title.

    Bucs

TAMPA — It's ridiculous that it took this long to give Jon Gruden a night all his own, given the nights he gave Bucs fans. But it will happen this evening at Raymond James Stadium, a salute to the thermonuclear source of that Super Bowl season, that bright, unbending light.
