COMEDY: Chris Tucker and D.L. Hughley

Hurricane Irma postponed the original Sept. 8 show, so if you bought a ticket it's still valid for Saturday's standup spectacle featuring Rush Hour star Chris Tucker, left. He will be joined by D.L. FILM: Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival

Still going strong after 28 years, the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival returns this weekend through Oct. 14 with a wide range of films and shorts with LGBT-centered subject matter and some bargains. Tickets are generally $15, $75 for six — but a dozen shows are free, including Friday's opening night showing of Freak Show, starring Bette Midler and directed by Trudie Styler (you know, Sting's wife), at 7:30 p.m. at Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St. There will be an after-party at nearby Hamburger Mary's where you can claim free appetizers with your ticket stub or pass. Visit tiglff.com for the full lineup.

KIDS: Winter and Hope's Party

The Clearwater Marine Aquarium's stars are having a birthday this week, and the aquarium is celebrating with Winter and Hope's Bubble Birthday Party. The party running Saturday through Oct. 16 celebrates as Winter, the star of Dolphin Tale, turns 12 and Hope, whose story was featured in Dolphin Tale 2, turns 7. Kids 12 and younger who bring a birthday card will get $9.99 admission (down from $16.95) and there will be bubble machines in the Spectrum Theatre, hula hooping, music and Pin the Tail on Winter games. Regular admission is $21.95, but the aquarium is running a special through Oct. 10 of $9.99 for Florida residents at the ticket window. Free for ages 2 and younger. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. 249 Windward Passage, Clearwater. (727) 441-1790. seewinter.com.

GAME DAY: Lightning home opener

The Tampa Bay Lightning opens its season Friday at home against the Florida Panthers. The team will mark its 25th anniversary with a commemorative ticket given to fans entering Amalie Arena that will have Friday night's game on the front and a back with the look of a ticket that people received at the first game in 1992. Hopes are high this year as many of the players who were relegated to the sidelines last season are now healthy and back in the lineup including team captain Steven Stamkos and right wing Ryan Callahan, left. Tickets start at $43 and the puck drops at 7:30 p.m. Friday at 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. lightning.nhl.com.
