Watch Tampa Bay's Epic Chef Showdown live Monday night

TAMPA — Round 2 of the third annual Epic Chef Showdown to benefit Feeding Tampa Bay is Monday night, and you can watch it live right here.

Epic Chef Showdown is a seven-week competition pitting eight of the Tampa Bay area's top restaurants against each other in a friendly cooking competition judged by a panel of local celebrities. The competition is hosted by the Epicurean Hotel and helps the group Feeding Tampa Bay, the largest food rescue and distribution organization in the community.

Each week, two chefs will receive a mystery box of ingredients not commonly prepared together. They will be challenged to create two dishes before time runs out. Each dish will be judged and one restaurant will be eliminated, with the winner moving on to the next round.

Live coverage will begin at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Joining "troll" (as in, a rude person on the Internet, not a bridge-dwelling creature), "alt-right" and "dog whistle," 10 food-related words were added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary this week. That's out of 250 new terms, a pretty good ratio that signals the ongoing shift toward a more food-obsessed culture, one …
