Applebee's is upping the ante on happy hour this month.

The restaurant chain announced that, for the duration of October, a margarita on ice will cost customers just $1.

This is not a drill: 100 pennies. That's it.

The new deal — which the chain is calling the "Dollarita" — is part of its monthlong national celebration of Applebees Neighborhood Appreciation Month.

"We focus on our food a lot, but 'bar' is in our name, and it is an integral part of what makes Applebee's a great neighborhood destination," Patrick Kirk, Applebee's vice president of beverage innovation, said in a news release.

"Our $1 margaritas in October give us a chance to show our guests a little love, giving them a totally unbeatable offer as a gesture of our sincere appreciation for their patronage."

At participating locations, the $1 margaritas are available every day throughout the month of October, from open to close.

The chain also reminded people to drink responsibly, even with drinks only costing a dollar.

The special had a lot of margarita lovers celebrating on Twitter.
