'Thunder' classic rock returns to bay area airwaves

The "Thunder" radio lineup of classic rock is returning to the Tampa Bay airwaves, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Tampa announced Thursday. Thunder 105.9-FM in Tampa and 94.5-FM in St. Petersburg return to rock after a flip to country programming in 2005. The station "debuts commercial-free playing the best classic rock," effective immediately, a news release said. So count on hearing more Beatles and Lynyrd Skynyrd and less Tim McGraw and Carrie Underwood. Fans can listen to Thunder 105.9 and 94.5 on the station's website, thundertampabay.com, as well as on iHeartRadio, Clear Channel's digital radio service.
