In the vault of iconic scenes from the stage, Eva Perón standing over the people, arms outstretched, singing Don't Cry for Me Argentina, ranks as high as her balcony. Evita, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Tony Award-winning musical, comes to the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts Tuesday through March 23. It tells the story of Perón, who rose from the slums of Argentina to become both a celebrated and embattled political leader. Performances are in Carol Morsani Hall, 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa. $46.50-$92. (813) 229-7827. strazcenter.org.
