      DUNEDIN — Curlew Hills Memory Gardens' annual K-9 Police Dog Memorial was held Tuesday.

      Stefanie Sanford, 22, and her 14-month-old daughter, Leah, place flowers on a grave Tuesday at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens in Dunedin. The tribute is for their family pet, Ax, who also was a police dog for the Fort Myers Police Department. Ax was hit by a getaway car during a robbery in 2011, was disabled and retired. He died in 2013. The K-9 Police Dog Memorial is an annual event.
